Our Commitment to Diversity

Our Founders of Delta Sigma Pi intended to create a brotherhood as diverse as the business world would represent. Our organization succeeds in the robust exchange of ideas, which is most prevalent when the rich diversity of our perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences flourish. The Psi Chapter welcomes all students who meet our professional standards regardless of race, ethnicity, creed, religion, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status. Each of our members is valued and respected for the unique contribution they make to the organization.

However, in a time where racial injustice and systemic racism remain prevalent, the brothers at Delta Sigma Pi- Psi Chapter have realized that we must take further action to combat these critical issues and create change in the Wisconsin School of Business. This year, we have communicated with leaders in the Wisconsin School of Business regarding ways we can promote a more diverse environment, and have many initiatives planned to allow for a greater understanding of diversity and inclusion within our chapter.

  • Required diversity and inclusion readings with supplementary quizzes

  • Required attendance at an unconscious bias workshop prior to voting on potential new members

  • Highlighting important historical dates in our chapter and on our social media platforms such as Black History Month, Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and Pride Month

  • Additional diversity and inclusion related seminars and events throughout the semester to further immerse members in a diverse environment

The severe lack of diversity in the school of business must be addressed, and as one of the prominent organizations in the Wisconsin School of Business, Delta Sigma Pi is committed to using our platform to demand that the Wisconsin School of Business actively recruit a more diverse student body and educate its current students on diversity-related issues.

A Message From our VP of Diversity & Inclusion

Hi!

My name is Paiton Glynn, and I am serving as the Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion for the Psi chapter of Delta Sigma Pi this semester. I am part of the Alpha Delta pledge class, initiated in the Spring of 24.

Last spring, I made the decision to rush DSP because I was looking for a community of students to support me both in my academic and personal endeavors. Through DSP, I have not only strengthened my skills as a professional, but I have improved my confidence as an individual. This organization has given me endless opportunities to connect with students who share similar goals and ambitions as me which I am extremely grateful for.

One of the many reasons why I love DSP is because it has the perfect balance between professionalism and brotherhood. Through events, I have been able to bond with brothers and form relationships that I will take with me beyond college. These connections make it easier for me to be vulnerable and allow my brothers to help me improve my professional skills through activities such as resume reviews and mock interviews. This balance is why our chapter continues to grow in membership, alumni participation, and company engagement year after year.

As this semesters VP of Diversity and Inclusion, I want to ensure our chapter continues to uphold the Diversity pillar our founders set in place. I am committed to making Delta Sigma Pi a welcoming environment for all students and providing resources to both recruits and brothers in need. We are lucky enough to attend a university which has a student body with rich and diverse backgrounds, passions, and knowledge. It is my job to make sure that all those students have the equal opportunity to be a part of such an amazing organization such as DSP despite their potential lack of resources and opportunities.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, comments, or concerns regarding diversity and inclusion!

Paiton Glynn
