A Message from Our
Vice President of Community Service

Hi Everyone!

My name is Aishling Li and I am Vice President of Community Service for the Spring 2025 semester. I am a part of the Alpha Epsilon pledge class, which means I joined DSP one semester ago, Fall 2024.

As an international student, I was eager to find myself an organization to be in, and that why I joined DSP. Just within one semester, I could say that this is my first right choice that I made in college. In DSP, I have already had many opportunities not only to form strong connections with other business people, but also grew professionally through the events we have.

Although being a brother who just got in for one semester, I see how brother devote themselves into services for the community in the past, and I am looking forward to gathering more strength in between brothers. As Vice President of Community Service for the spring semester, my aim is to make our CS events more interactive for and between brothers, and further bring a bigger impact to the community around us.

Besides bringing our traditional spring events such as Polar Plunge and DSPets, my other new events will be focusing on connecting with more communities in Madison outside campus, whether that be at the Alzheimer’s Association or the SSM Health. It’s one step at a time, but I am passionate about making our community a little better in the spirit of DSP brothers.

Last but not least, feel free to reach out with any questions about DSP or our Chapter’s Community Service Pillar.

Delta Sigma Pi- Psi Chapter Organizations and Examples:

One of the most important organizations we partner with is the Ronald McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald House is the national organization that we support by helping to collect pop tabs for their initiative to recycle them to raise funds for the House and the underprivileged families in need. Through the collection process and recycling of these pop tabs, the Ronald McDonald House usually generates around $5,000 annually.

Another strong relationship we have with organizations around Madison is with Wisconsin Microfinance. We are planning our third annual Polar Plunge event where we raise funds for Wisconsin Microfinance, while also jumping into the freezing lake afterward to raise awareness. This organization focuses on lending microloans to underdeveloped countries worldwide and small business owners to help grow their businesses and establish a strong financial foundation. Wisconsin Microfinance has about a 95% repayment on these loans which then leads to the organization then “re-using” the repayment to issue new microloans. This idea proves that small donations go a long way, check out their website to learn more! https://wisconsinmicrofinance.com/
