Service and Philanthropy
A Message from Our
Vice President of Community Service
Hi everyone!
My name is Lauren Amstadt and I am the Vice President of Community Service for the fall 2025 semester. I joined DSP in the spring 2025 semester and am a proud member of the Alpha Zeta pledge class. I am so excited and honored to not only be a brother but to lead this fraternity in our Service and Philanthropy Pillar.
As a sophomore last year I realized I wanted to be a part of something bigger in my college career. I did this by joining DSP, a close-knit organization that not only cares for its members, but the community as a whole. I am especially excited for this position because this city has always had a very special place in my heart because I grew up just south of Madison in Stoughton, WI.
I can’t wait to continue DSP’s partnership with DSPets this fall. This event focuses on recycling old T-shirts and making them into dog toys. In addition, I am thrilled to announce that DSP will be working with the Henry Vilas Zoo to volunteer at their Run Wild event, among other activities. The fraternity will also focus our philanthropic efforts on providing members of our community with cost-friendly meals in partnership with UW-Madison’s Slow Food organization. And this is only the beginning!
Please feel free to reach out to me by email with any questions or ideas lamstadt@wisc.edu

Delta Sigma Pi- Psi Chapter Organizations and Examples:
One of the most important organizations we partner with is the Ronald McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald House is the national organization that we support by helping to collect pop tabs for their initiative to recycle them to raise funds for the House and the underprivileged families in need. Through the collection process and recycling of these pop tabs, the Ronald McDonald House usually generates around $5,000 annually.
Another strong relationship we have with organizations around Madison is with Wisconsin Microfinance. We are planning our third annual Polar Plunge event where we raise funds for Wisconsin Microfinance, while also jumping into the freezing lake afterward to raise awareness. This organization focuses on lending microloans to underdeveloped countries worldwide and small business owners to help grow their businesses and establish a strong financial foundation. Wisconsin Microfinance has about a 95% repayment on these loans which then leads to the organization then “re-using” the repayment to issue new microloans. This idea proves that small donations go a long way, check out their website to learn more! https://wisconsinmicrofinance.com/
